27 Ways to Eat Hemp Hearts

Hemp Hearts – A Healthy Alternative

I first tried hemp hearts in 2010. My sister is a vegetarian, so my mom bought them to use as an additive in salads. I quickly started using them on my morning bagels with cream cheese. Pretty soon I realized that when I sprinkled them on top of my bagels, my energy sustained, and I didn’t become hungry almost immediately after eating my breakfast.

I was hooked.

A Splendid Superfood!

Hemp Hearts are nutrient-dense but have a subtle flavor. They kind of taste like a sunflower seed, without the hassle; but, when you add them to food they take on the flavor of whatever you are eating. They are high in protein, potassium, manganese and Omega-3 and contain all nine essential amino acids that your body needs but doesn’t naturally produce.
